Bali Vegan Festival 2025 – 15th WVO Conference Dates & Locations

Bali Vegan Festival 2025

Bali once again reaffirms its role as a leading global destination by hosting The 15th World Vegan Organization (WVO) Conference and International Vegan Festival 2025. This prestigious international vegan event will take place from October 17–19, 2025, across two major venues: Taman Werdhi Budaya Art Centre in Denpasar and Maha Vihara & Pusdiklat Buddha Maitreya Bali on Jalan Gunung Soputan No. 88x, Pemecutan, Denpasar.

Globally known for its beaches, temples, and spirituality, Bali is also celebrated for its openness to sustainable living. Over the past decade, the island has become a home for international vegan communities, particularly in Ubud, where yoga, healing retreats, and plant-based diets flourish. It comes as no surprise that Bali has been chosen as the host for one of the world’s largest vegan conferences.

History and Context of the Bali Vegan Festival 2025

While official records of the Bali Vegan Festival remain limited, the event is recognized as part of the island’s growing vegan movement. It arose from a collective push to spread awareness about living free from animal exploitation, while promoting vegan wellness festivals and plant-based foods that are both healthy and sustainable.

Community groups such as Bali Vegan Meetup played a pioneering role, launching online campaigns, hosting meetups, and eventually helping establish the festival. Their mission was to engage locals and global travelers alike in discussions about health, animal rights, and environmental responsibility. Supported by Bali’s thriving tourism, yoga culture, and open-minded communities, the festival evolved into one of the most notable vegan events in Bali, often aligned with World Vegan Day on November 1.

Vision and Goals of the 15th WVO Vegan Conference

The 2025 edition is organized by the World Vegan Organization (WVO) in collaboration with the Indonesia Vegetarian Society (IVS) and the Vegan Society of Indonesia (VSI) Bali. The vision goes far beyond a simple food showcase. Its mission is to educate and inspire people about the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle, improving human health, protecting the environment, and promoting animal welfare.

“This conference is a global platform, not just a food fair. We want to highlight the wide benefits of vegan living,” explained Susanto, a WVO representative. Evi Juliana, the Tenant Coordinator and Event Advisor, echoed this message, stressing that the festival is open to everyone: long-time vegans, vegetarians, and even non-vegans curious about sustainable living.

International Vegan Festival Bali 2025 – Program Itinerary

The festival is designed as a holistic vegan wellness festival, blending education, entertainment, and cultural exchange. For three days, attendees will experience:

  • Seminars and talk shows with global speakers including Dr. Susianto Tseng (President WVO & VSI Indonesia), Denis Dolbin (Chairman WVO Russia), Michal & Julia Shark (Brawium LIFE – Czech Republic & Slovakia), and Xu Zi Tong (Founder, Empathy School – China).
  • Vegan food bazaar Bali with 45 tenants serving traditional plant-based dishes, refreshing drinks, and innovative vegan products from schools, UMKM businesses, and local communities.
  • Vegan cooking demos and competitions led by Chef Dwita Pradnya Artanti, showing how diverse and flavorful plant-based cuisine can be.
  • Vegan yoga Bali event and fitness sessions with instructors like I Gusti Raka Panji Trisna.
  • Eco-friendly festival market showcasing creative, sustainable lifestyle products.
  • Children’s activities such as a coloring competition to inspire vegan values from a young age.
  • Free blood donation drive on October 18, in partnership with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI Bali).
  • Art and music performances that celebrate harmony, culture, and the vegan spirit.

Extended Itinerary Recommendation:
After the main program, visitors are encouraged to extend their journey by spending time at Dijiwa Sanctuaries, one of Bali’s most serene retreats. Here, guests can unwind with eco-luxury hospitality, explore local cultural experiences, and continue embracing a mindful plant-based lifestyle in a tranquil setting.

Vegan Food Bazaar and Culinary Experiences in Bali

The vegan food bazaar is expected to be the main magnet for both local residents and international visitors. As of now, 35 tenants are confirmed, with a target of 45. Participants include vegan entrepreneurs, community groups, and eco-friendly product makers.

To simplify transactions, organizers have adopted a voucher system priced at IDR 50,000 per package, divided into coupons of IDR 5,000, 10,000, and 20,000. This approach ensures transactions remain practical, transparent, and aligned with sustainability goals, while reducing reliance on cash. For many, this bazaar will be a highlight of vegan culinary tourism in Bali, where visitors can taste authentic Indonesian dishes reinvented in plant-based form.

Bali as a Global Stage for the International Vegan Community

Since 2023, Bali has been recognized as an international hub for vegan conferences. The 2025 gathering will further strengthen this reputation, bringing together voices from Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Attendees are expected to share knowledge, strategies, and inspiration to create a healthier, more compassionate, and sustainable world.

“This event is both a celebration of the vegan community in Bali and a moral movement to protect our planet. The positive energy we build here is meant to inspire,” said the committee. By holding the event on a weekend, organizers hope to make it more accessible for both tourists and Balinese residents, ensuring a diverse audience and vibrant atmosphere.

Impact of Bali Vegan Festival 2025 and WVO Conference

The 15th WVO Conference and International Vegan Festival 2025 in Bali is not merely an annual gathering. It is a global vegan movement uniting communities across cultures and continents. Supported by local businesses, tourism players, and international networks, the event underscores Bali’s status as not only a holiday paradise but also an international vegan hub.

From the vegan food bazaar to yoga sessions, from vegan cooking demos to cultural performances, the festival embodies the transformational power of the plant-based lifestyle in Bali. With its commitment to ethics, sustainability, and global solidarity, Bali once again proves itself as the perfect stage for promoting a healthier and more compassionate future.

Dijiwa Sanctuaries shares the same spirit of sustainability, wellness, and cultural harmony. Guests can extend their vegan journey in Bali with eco-luxury hospitality that honors ethics, mindfulness, and a deep respect for nature
