A HOME FOR THE JOURNEY IN KINTAMANI
ODYSSA begins with a belief that the journey is the destination. The vision is not to repeat one hotel idea in different places, but to build a continuous collection of distinct destinations, each with its own weather, people, materials, food, and way of life, yet each offering the familiar feeling of arriving somewhere and knowing you can belong. Bali is the first destination. Five collections are planned here, with Kintamani as the first chapter.
Kintamani sets the tone by refusing to be reduced to a view. Mount batur may be the first impression, but beyond it are pine forests, citrus orchards, coffee farms, lake batur, volcanic ground, village roads, temples, kitchens, and communities who give the landscape its human scale. ODYSSA exists to bring guests closer to that wider place, not by adding more programming, but by making better connections.
The six 90 m² cabins belong to one accommodation category. Each offers the same standard of privacy, comfort, and care, while light, orientation, outlook, weather, and vegetation give each stay its own point of view. The cabin is not the destination in miniature. It is the home within the journey, where breakfast, dinner, wellness, work, rest, and return can all find their place.
Days move outward, black lava, a coffee farm, an orchard, pine forest, a temple, a shared table, somewhere suggested that morning. Then the return: shoes by the door, warm water, dinner, mist on the glass, and the slow realisation that the day was better for not following the plan exactly.
The founding ethos should be visible in ordinary decisions, not left as a brand statement. What do we leave untouched? What can be reused? Who makes the furniture? Who cooks, guides, drives, teaches, hosts, or cares for the animals around us? Where verified, stories of mature trees, upcycled timber, local craft, the landowner’s family, neighbours, schools, and community partners should show how ODYSSA treads gently and shares value. The principle is planet, people, then profit, made visible through choices people can actually see.
