Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud Honouring Eight Years Anniversary Through a Celebration of Nature and Responsibility
by Dijiwa Sanctuaries

As part of the 8th anniversary celebration, Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud hosted a meaningful sustainability activity, “Palemahan: Plogging & Bird Release,” on 8 August 2026. The activity brought together the Owner of Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud, CEO and Founders of Dijiwa Sanctuaries, General Manager and team members to celebrate the milestone while giving back to the natural surroundings that have been an integral part of the resort’s identity.
The initiative was inspired by Palemahan, one of the three principles of Tri Hita Karana, the Balinese philosophy of maintaining harmony between humans and nature. Through this activity, Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud sought to translate the philosophy into meaningful action, reinforcing its responsibility to care for the environment and contribute to a more sustainable community.
Eight Birds Released to Nature
The activity began with the release of eight birds from different species into their natural habitat, symbolizing the resort’s eight years of journey. The release represented freedom, renewal, and a shared commitment to protecting Bali’s biodiversity.
The activity was joined by all of the attendees, creating a meaningful moment of connection with nature as part of the anniversary celebration. The release also reflected the importance of preserving the natural ecosystem surrounding the resort, allowing local wildlife to thrive in its natural environment.
Walking Together for a Cleaner Surrounding
Following the bird release, the team continued with a plogging activity, combining walking with collecting plastic waste and other litter from the streets and surroundings of Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud.
Participants were divided into several groups and worked together to collect as much waste as possible. To add a fun and engaging element to the activity, the group that collected the largest amount of trash was awarded a special prize.
More than a friendly competition, the plogging activity served as a reminder that environmental responsibility can begin with simple actions. By coming together as a team and caring for the areas surrounding the resort, the initiative encouraged greater awareness of waste management and the importance of keeping the local environment clean.
Celebrating with Purpose
The “Palemahan” activity formed part of Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud’s wider 8th anniversary celebration, adding a meaningful sustainability element to the milestone.
For Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud, celebrating another year is also an opportunity to reflect on its responsibility as part of the local environment and community. Sustainability continues to be an important part of the resort’s journey, with ongoing initiatives aimed at protecting nature, reducing environmental impact, and creating positive contributions to the surrounding community.
Through “Palemahan: Plogging & Bird Release,” the resort hopes to inspire its team and guests to recognize that caring for nature is a shared responsibility. Rooted in the values of Tri Hita Karana, the initiative reflects Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud’s continued journey toward responsible hospitality, “Inspired by Nature, Enriched by Meaningful Moments”.
