Ubud, Bali — In a demonstration of environmental commitment, Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud, in collaboration with the Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Gianyar, hosted a tree-planting event in Desa Sumita, Gianyar, to mark World Environment Day on June 5, 2025. The event brought together local communities, environmental enthusiasts, and guests of Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud, who enthusiastically participated in planting trees to support reforestation and ecological balance.

World Environment Day is the United Nation’s largest platform for environmental awareness and action. Established in 1973, it unites millions worldwide under a shared mission: protecting and restoring our planet. The tree-planting event, marking this day, reflects Arkamara’s commitment to sustainable tourism and environmental stewardship, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change and preserve natural ecosystems.

“We are proud to contribute to the preservation of Bali’s natural beauty through our ‘1% for Smiles and Trees’ program,” said Endy Hermawan, General Manager of Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud. “This activity not only helps restore the environment but also engages our guests in meaningful, eco-conscious actions.”

Bendesa Adat Sumita, I Nyoman Wira Sugiartha, expressed his appreciation, "We are deeply grateful for this initiative. The trees planted are useful for our local community. They provide leaves and flowers for offerings (canang), while also bringing positive impact for the air quality and greener landscapes to our village. This is a perfect example of how environmental action can honor our traditions while securing a healthier future for Balinese people”.

Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Gianyar also appreciates this collaboration, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in environmental conservation. The tree-planting initiative supports Gianyar’s broader goals of enhancing green spaces, improving air quality, and promoting biodiversity. Guests who participated in the event shared their joy in being part of this positive and impactful activity, reinforcing the idea that small actions can lead to significant environmental benefits.

Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud remains committed to sustainable practices and looks forward to continuing its efforts in fostering a greener, healthier future for Bali.
